Conclusion of a Memorandum of Understanding between Lorestan University and a Top Pakistani University, Ranked 371 in QS and 500 in Times

With the presence of Dr. Hossein Hatami, Vice President for Research and Technology of Lorestan University, a memorandum of understanding for bilateral cooperation was signed and exchanged with the National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST) of Pakistan, which holds the first rank among universities in that country, and ranks 371 in QS and 500 in Times.

According to the Public Relations Department of Lorestan University, based on the report sent by the Vice President for Research and Technology of the University, following the follow-ups and official correspondence of the Vice President for Research and Technology of Lorestan University at the Mustafa (PBUH) Prize ceremony in the summer of 1405, the President of NUST Pakistan (National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST) Islamabad) invited the President and Vice President for Research and Technology of Lorestan University to attend their university to sign a memorandum of cooperation.
This invitation was confirmed by the Vice President for Research and Technology of Lorestan University (Dr. Hossein Hatami), and on December 2-6, in Islamabad, Pakistan, the Vice President for Research and Technology of Lorestan University was a guest of NUST.
During this time, Dr. Hatami, by visiting all the faculties, laboratories, workshops, and advanced centers of NUST, as well as its science and technology park, officially signed a formal memorandum of cooperation in all scientific and technological fields, including the exchange of students and faculty members and joint project collaborations, with the Deputy President, "Professor Usman Hassan," in the office of the university president.
In order to inform the faculty members and graduate students about the capabilities and activities of this university for planning joint collaborations, a summary of the characteristics of NUST has been presented in the files attached to the news.

NUST, in the QS World University Rankings in 2026, holds the rank of 371, rank 68 in Asia, and the first rank in Pakistan.
NUST is ranked 601-800 in the Times International Rankings and ranks below 500 in a number of faculties, including social sciences, physics, computer science, and economics.
NUST has branches in 5 cities of Pakistan and has 22 active institutions across Pakistan.
This university has educational, research, and technological activities in 7 interdisciplinary subjects; including Engineering & Technology, Computing & Information Technology, Life Sciences & Medicine, Arts & Humanities, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Business & Management.

This university has research activities, technology, and major international projects with 272 international universities from 57 countries around the world.
NUST has 439 active research laboratories, of which 21 laboratories are active in research and technology as key and unique laboratories in Pakistan, and it is considered the first university in terms of the Ministry of Science of Pakistan in industrial relations and major national and international projects.
The science and technology park of this university, which is the oldest and largest park in Pakistan, has more than 250 active national and international companies.
This university has 6 cutting-edge technology centers in an international perspective with major projects; including (FOR ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, FOR ROBOTICS & AUTOMATION, CYBER SECURITY, BIG DATA & CLOUD COMPUTING, CHIP DESIGN CENTRE, SURFACE ENGINEERING).

The presentation files during the visit were provided by the Director of International Relations of that university along with images to the Vice President for Research and Technology of Lorestan University; also, the signed file was presented to the President of Lorestan University.
Dr. Hatami said in this regard: "God willing, with NUST, which has high international rankings in reputable global rankings, with the serious cooperation of faculty members and graduate students, we will take a firm step in the international collaborations of Lorestan University."
He stated: "Therefore, all respected faculty members of Lorestan University are invited to study the attached files and correspond with this vice presidency to establish communication under the memorandum of understanding with NUST. Also, visit the NUST website and gain more information about the expertise and capabilities of that university."
