Celebrating Top Researchers and Technologists of the Province Hosted by Lorestan University / Emphasis on Developing Research-Industry Collaboration

With the presence of Engineer Seyed Saeed Shahrokhi, Governor of Lorestan, Dr. Hamid Keshkooli, Deputy for Management Development and Human Resources of the Governorate, Dr. Mehrdad Dadistani, President of Lorestan University, Dr. Mahmoudreza Shakeri, President of the Science and Technology Park of the Province, managers and academics, the ceremony honoring the top researchers and technologists of Lorestan Province was held, and the expansion of the relationship between research and industry was emphasized.

According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, this ceremony was held on Wednesday, December 10th of this year in the Shahid Soleimani Hall of Lorestan University.

Emphasis on the relationship between research and industry / Explanation of the law on the leap in knowledge-based production

At the beginning of the ceremony, the President of Lorestan University said in a speech: "Efforts should be made to expand the relationship between research, investigations, and the university with industries; a relationship that is based on solving the problems of society."

Dr. Mehrdad Dadistani, stated: "Today, we are talking about an entrepreneurial university; a university that tries to conduct applied research."

Dr. Dadistani, added: "We have a law on the leap in knowledge-based production in the country; this law is a favorable opportunity to deepen the relationship between industries and universities; according to this law, if a company has a research and development unit or asks the university to implement the intended application in order to improve the product, it will benefit from tax exemptions."

He stated: "The industry stock exchange is also an important issue; this student stock exchange is based on the wishes and needs of the industries; this is valuable for the student and for the industries."

The President of Lorestan University, stated: "We are now in the field of artificial intelligence; we should not fall behind in this regard; because the country must always be in motion and progress; research is entering new fields in order to improve the quality of human life; moving in the path of science is a permanent and unstoppable movement."

Dr. Dadistani, explained: "Artificial intelligence can make important changes in all dimensions; we must also be prepared to have something to say at the national and global level, in accordance with this field."

The President of Lorestan University, in part of his speech, congratulated the anniversary of the birth of Hazrat Fatemeh Zahra (peace be upon her) and Women's and Mother's Day.

Also, he congratulated the current days, which are in line with commemorating Student Day, to the academics, especially the students.

Improving power by expanding science and knowledge / Let's move based on program-orientation

The Governor of Lorestan said in this ceremony: "If a society wants to achieve progress and power in all dimensions, it must expand science and knowledge."

Engineer Seyed Saeed Shahrokhi, explained: "When a society is equipped with science and knowledge, it is considered a powerful society at the global level; we all should consider the guidelines of the Supreme Leader in the field of paying more attention to science and knowledge as a guiding light for our path."

Shahrokhi, continued: "In today's world, we see that any country that has more technological tools and knowledge can also have more power in the international arena."

He stated: "The fact that Iran has endogenous nuclear knowledge is a very valuable scientific achievement; if this achievement was not important and valuable, the arrogant powers would never try to take action against our country."

The Governor of Lorestan, stated: "Promoting the discourse of self-belief is a very important issue; Iran has achieved valuable scientific achievements based on self-belief and relying on its internal specialized forces, and this is a great capital."

Engineer Seyed Saeed Shahrokhi, said: "We are witnessing that Iran has many leaders in various fields of science and knowledge; Iran has new things to say in various fields; we should appreciate this great blessing; Iran is a powerful Iran, which of course, this path of scientific authority should continue with more power."

Engineer Shahrokhi, explained: "One point is important; that Iran has been sanctioned by the dominant powers and its endogenous progress has been achieved despite these sanctions, which is very valuable."

The Governor of Lorestan, stated: "Although the enemy has sanctioned our beloved country, relying on the knowledge of indigenous scientists has been able to give dignity and power to the country, and this is the product of the guidelines of the Supreme Leader."

He added: "Iran is a country that has amazing talents; this is a blessing; Iran is a powerful Iran with the creativity and initiative of its youth; the youth are the great human capital of the country; in this regard, the role of the university is very important."

The Governor of Lorestan noted: "All this strong knowledge in the field of defense and missile industries, which is the outcome of the science and knowledge of these homeland youths, is the product of research and investigations of the university centers inside the country; this means power, and we saw how Iran's missiles defended Iran against the aggression of the Zionist regime, and in the end, the enemy was forced to a ceasefire; this means national power, which is the result of the research and investigation of scientists, researchers, and technologists of the country's universities."

Engineer Seyed Saeed Shahrokhi, stated: "The plan of America and the Zionist regime in the 12-day imposed war was the fall of the holy system of the Islamic Republic, but they failed; because the Iranian nation is a great, science-creating, and honor-creating nation; the dear people of Iran have always supported the holy system of the Islamic Republic and defend the territorial integrity of the country."

Shahrokhi, stated: "If we want to have more to say in the world, we must constantly strengthen the country's science, knowledge, and technology."

The Governor of Lorestan, in another part of his speech, pointed out that the universities of the province, including Lorestan University, should hold more meetings on specialized topics related to the province's issues with the presence of researchers and specialists, in order to increase the connection between the executive management of the province and university specialists.

Engineer Shahrokhi referred to this sentence: "The province should be managed scientifically and program-oriented; program-orientation is a very important issue; when we talk about the program, we should try to listen to the opinions of university specialists as much as possible."

The beating heart of scientific progress is research

In this ceremony, the representative of the Supreme Leader in the Housing Foundation of the Islamic Revolution of Lorestan Province said in a speech: "The role of science and knowledge in civilization-building is very important; in this regard, the beating heart of scientific progress is research and investigations."

Hojjat-ul-Islam and Muslims Seyed Hadi Sohrabi, stated: "The scientific achievements of mankind are the product of research and investigations; a researcher is someone who is looking for new frontiers; therefore, the researcher has the courage to search."

Sohrabi, stated: "Research is not only for the university; if research leads to results, it can change people's lifestyle in a society; for this reason, the role of universities in producing applied research is of great importance."

He stated: "If a society is looking for a better future, it must be a researcher and investigator; research helps the country's progress."

The representative of the Supreme Leader in the Housing Foundation of the Islamic Revolution of the province, stated: "The student should be educated in the university in such a way that he is a researcher and investigator and a person of creativity and innovation; these things will lead to the progress of the country".

Proposing specialized topics on the water of Lorestan province

In this ceremony, Dr. Amir Hamzeh Haghiabi, a faculty member of the Water Sciences Department of the Faculty of Agriculture of Lorestan University, as one of the international scientific leaders of Lorestan University, explained specialized topics related to the water sector of the province.

These topics were stated based on the approach that the university should be a community-oriented university and play a role in reducing the problems of the province.

For example, Dr. Haghiabi explained that the average agricultural water lands of the province is very low compared to the national average.

He stated that the water governance system should be reformed.
