Lorestān University Honored Research and Technology Stars 1404

The ceremony honoring top researchers of Lorestan University was held on the occasion of Research and Technology Week.

According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, this ceremony was held on Monday, December 1st of the current year, with the presence of Professor Amanollahi Baharvand, a prominent anthropologist of the country, Dr. Mehrdad Dastani, President of Lorestan University, Hojjatoleslam and Wal-Muslimin Dr. Majid Moeidi, Head of the Representative Offices of the Supreme Leader in the universities of Lorestan province, university managers, faculty members, and students.

The Important Role of Research in Improving the University's Ranking and Budget

The President of Lorestan University, in his speech, while congratulating the arrival of Research and Technology Week, said: "There is a direct relationship between the university's ranking in national and international rankings and the increase or decrease of the university's public budget."

Dr. Mehrdad Dastani explained: "The more we try to improve the university's ranking by conducting credible scientific research, the more we will be able to attract more budget, and more budget will be allocated to Lorestan University; therefore, the role of research is considered an important role."

Dr. Dastani stated: "The more indicators such as research, technology, and scientific authority of the university improve at the national and international level, the position of Lorestan University will also increase; therefore, the role of the university's faculty members, especially young and newly hired faculty members, in conducting credible national and international research, is very important for improving the scientific position of the university."

The Impact of One Person Can Be Equal to an Ummah

The Head of the Representative Offices of the Supreme Leader in the universities of Lorestan province, in this ceremony, said: "The role of science and the scholar in the teachings of the religion of Islam is a very important and influential role."

Hojjatoleslam and Wal-Muslimin Dr. Majid Moeidi explained: "The more important the impact of a person in society is, his impact can be equal to an ummah; the prophets of God have been like this."

Dr. Moeidi explained: "If a scholar publishes the knowledge he has for the people and the people benefit from his knowledge, the impact of the scholar is equal to an ummah; the position of researchers in this regard is the position of influence in society for the growth of the country."

In the end of his speech, he commemorated the memory of the martyrs, especially the martyrs of the 12-day imposed war, and explained that the security we have is due to the self-sacrifice of the martyrs; if these sacrifices had not been made, there would have been no security to hold the ceremony honoring researchers; therefore, we must always appreciate the proud martyrs of Islamic Iran.

Explanatory Report on the One-Year Performance of Research and Technology at the University

In this ceremony, the Vice President for Research and Technology of Lorestan University, in his speech, explained the most important performance and achievements of the Vice President for Research and Technology of Lorestan University in the last one year.

Dr. Hossein Hatami explained: "One of the measures was that for the first time in the university, we succeeded in obtaining the research ethics code for the university."

Dr. Hatami stated: "In the last year, credible national conferences such as the Suicide Conference and the Alavi Biography and Modern Urban Management Conference, etc., were held at Lorestan University, which were at the national level."

He said: "For the first time, Lorestan University was ranked in the QS Asian rankings; let's not forget that this ranking is a ranking with very strict criteria, and this is a valuable scientific achievement for Lorestan University; our effort is to be able to enter the QS World as well."

He added: "We have been successful in sending faculty members to reputable European, American, and African university conferences, and of course, these efforts will continue; the fact that the faculty of Lorestan University can present specialized articles in foreign countries at reputable conferences is itself a scientific achievement for Lorestan University and the scientific community of Lorestan province."

Dr. Hossein Hatami stated: "The Research Ethics Council was formed at the university; in the field of managing the relationship between Lorestan University and industry, fortunately, we have signed numerous provincial and national scientific memoranda of understanding with the approach that the memoranda of understanding are in the process of being implemented; for the first time, we are witnessing the memoranda of understanding between Lorestan University and important national industries outside the province; what is important to us is the quality of the memoranda of understanding, not just their number and quantity."

Dr. Hatami, in another part of his speech, presented a comprehensive report on the total activities carried out in various parts of the sub-departments of the Vice President for Research and Technology of the University, such as the Information Technology Unit, the Central Library, the Growth and Technology Center, the Electronic Equipment Repair Center, the Zoology Museum, the Management of Relations with Society and Entrepreneurship, etc., to the audience.

This point was also emphasized by Dr. Hatami that as long as the actions do not have tangible outputs, they will not be publicized; after implementing an action and ensuring that it has tangible scientific outputs for the university, then the news of that activity will be publicized.

Towards Global Research / The Necessity of Transnational Networking

In this ceremony, Dr. Masoud Rahmati, a faculty member of the Physical Education Department of Lorestan University, who is currently working as a researcher at Aix-Marseille University in France, gave a virtual (online) speech and shared his experiences of research processes abroad to exchange scientific experience.

Dr. Rahmati explained in his speech that the nature of research should be global; that is, a country alone cannot solve an important global problem; researchers of countries should have continuous scientific communication with each other and participate in solving the problems and challenges of countries. The nature of research should be of a global and transnational type.

To succeed in research, networking must be done; specialists from different fields should participate in conducting a research; research should not be one-dimensional; this is where interdisciplinary research is important.

Effective research is research that is effective in improving the quality of life of the people of the world; for this reason, the perspective of a researcher should be of a global perspective. Effective research should be able to have tangible outputs in improving human life.
