Student Workshop on Familiarization with Vesta Software Held
Dec 19, 2024
To commemorate Research and Technology Week, a student workshop on familiarization with the VESTA software, presented by Dr. Hossein Doosti, faculty member of the Physics Department of Lorestan University, was held at the Faculty of Basic Sciences of the university.
According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, the workshop abstract is as follows:
Today, computational methods in the study of the physical and chemical properties of structures are one of the powerful tools alongside laboratory methods.
The implementation of computational methods takes place in various computational codes, but the prerequisite for working with them is initially constructing the crystal structure in other primary software such as XCrysden or Vesta.
In this scientific workshop, an attempt was made to provide initial training regarding the education and familiarization of students with the capabilities and features of this software so that students can design various crystal structures using this software.
