To commemorate Research and Technology Week, a student workshop on "A Brief Overview of Iran's Economic Trends" was held, taught by Dr. Amin Beiranvand, a faculty member of the Department of Economics at Lorestan University.
According to the Public Relations Department of Lorestan University, the workshop's summary of topics is as follows:
"By presenting charts of the trends of macroeconomic variables in Iran, including gross national product, inflation, etc., the trends of these variables were examined over the past 10 years of the country's economy, and the reasons for changes in trends in different periods were investigated.
Also, some of the most important economic problems of the country were addressed, including the high share of the service sector compared to other sectors of the Iranian economy.
It was emphasized that, unfortunately, the service sector in the country does not follow the real sector of the economy, which itself has led to a high return on capital gains compared to the return on production factors.
In the following, other reasons for the lack of significant economic growth in the last decade of the Iranian economy were analyzed and examined. After stating the current conditions of the country, various scenarios related to the future of the Iranian economy were presented and examined, considering how economic growth and inflation will be in the country under different conditions and with regard to various scenarios."
